Cobra

Hi I was trying to add a skin to my invision board it tells me i have to change permissons on the folder style_images but when i change them through cpanel it just defaults back to the original settings and won't let me import the skin.Do i possibly have to use a ftp program to change the permissions or am i just doin something wrong.I am using version 1.1.2 of the invision board.Thankyou in advance for any help.
