Using Cpanel Backup To Move Site?

I need to move my site (www.amysedaris.com) from its old host to TCH, and I thought maybe I could just use the CPanel interface from the old host to download a backup and then restore the backup through CPanel on TCH. Unfortunately, I just ended up with the tar.gz backup file sitting on my TCH space but not getting restored.

 

Is there a trick to this, or should I just do this the old-fashioned way, by FTP'ing everything down to my hard drive and then back up to my new TCH space?

If you submit a support ticket, TCH is very helpful in moving cpanel'd sites over... =) Link at the top of the forum.

If you download the home backup rather than the full backup in cpanel > backup,

you can upload it here in cpanel > backup > upload backup

 

Then do the same with your databases and email filters and alias's

 

 

But a help desk ticket is a good way too.
