TCH-Thomas Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 Is there supposed to be a "anonymous@server.com" in my "manage ftp" in cpanel? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 I think cPanel creates the account by default. However TCH no longer supports anonymous FTP so it's not needed. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 3, 2004 Author Posted May 3, 2004 So in other words i can delete it and sleep safer knowing no one can peek in to my ftp without my knowledge? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 Or you can leave it and sleep well knowing it will not get into your account. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 3, 2004 Posted May 3, 2004 Thomas, you can test this easy enough. Open a command prompt (DOS window). At the command prompt enter: ftp ftp.yourdomain.se When the login prompt appears enter: anonymous When the password prompt appears enter: you full email address You will then see it fail telling you that Anonymous logns are not allowed.
