Moving An Sql Database

I want to move my second site to TCH! I’m creating it with a friend of mine, and she picked the host. A horrible, horrible host. The control panel is impossible to navigate, and the FAQ references different category names than actually exist.

 

I’m tempted to leave now though I have close to two years left with the hosting, but I don't want all that work to go to waste. So I’m wondering, how easy is it to move an SQL database? Or an Ikonboard? It seems like it shouldn’t be that hard, but I don’t really know what I’m doing and the host is less than helpful.

I've moved my movabletype database several times now, finally settling on TCH. For me, it was as easy as doing a databaes export using phpmyadmin and then importing it at the new host.

 

You'd need to reinstall the software so that it would run, and make sure paths and username/passwords were updated. I have no experience with Ikonboard but the database part is fairly straightforward. =)
