Controlling Forwarding Addresses

I'd like to have control over my email setup (forwarding addresses, in particular) from my cron jobs. Is this possible? It seems that CPanel does not store email forwarding information anywhere I can access it from a script. But maybe CPanel has a low-level scripting interface? (I'm an advanced programmer so there is nothing is too hard for me to try.)
