johnpend Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 I have looked everywhere on the server, but there are components missing (process_form.php and contact_confirmation.htm) that are needed to make an online html form work. How do I get these installed? I tried the online chat tech support but they didn't provide any specific solutions. Any help will be most welcome. Thanks in advance! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Welcome to the forums John Are you using some form software package? Either way the files need to be copied to the server from somewhere. If you don't have an online form solution you can search hotscripts.com for something suitable. Quote

Thanks for responding! my client's website is hosting on TotalChoiceHosting's server. I have other clients that are hosted elsewhere. Usually all I have to do is reference a page named gdform.php and it works fine. Dick DeVance responded to another poster in this forum on a related issue, so he might have suggestions. The bottom line is that I think there is a cgi or similar that needs to be installed. Any thoughts? thanks in advance. Quote
johnpend Posted February 22, 2010 Author Posted February 22, 2010 Welcome to the forum, John. Hi Thomas! I am hoping that TotalChoiceHosting has a "canned", standard cgi for processing forms. Writing the form is fairly easy, but I don't know where to point it. Here's an example of what I'm using on another site. http://www.homesaleswebsites.com/starter.html Hope this helps. Thanks much for lending a jand with this. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 There are no canned comment forms provided. That's why I suggested that you check out hotscripts.com for something suitable. You will need a form processing script. Quote
