rwbronco Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 I tried using Fantastico to install Joomla to the root directory. To do this, it says to leave the "Install in directory" field blank. Leave empty to install in the root directory of the domain (access example: http://domain/).Enter only the directory name to install in a directory (for http://domain/name/ enter name only). This directory SHOULD NOT exist, it will be automatically created! But when I fill in the rest of the fields and try to install it, it says - You chose to install in the main directory of the domain astrolime.com, but there are conflicting filenames, therefore we can not proceed. Following filenames already exist in the main directory of the domain astrolime.com (path="/home/qlbogqe/public_html/").You must manually remove these files before proceeding with auto-installation:images Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors. Any clue as to what I need to do? I've installed a few things on other sites you guys host using the Fantastico, but never anything in the root directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 Welcome to the forum, rwbronco. Have you made sure that you have absolutely nothing at all in your root directory, no matter it is installed by Fantastico or not. Quote
rwbronco Posted June 13, 2007 Author Posted June 13, 2007 Heya thomas...just chatted a bit with Alex on the chat and while I was doing so I saw the : in the sentence it was giving me...I just skipped over it earlier. It's saying auto-installation: Images with Images being the directory that's stopping it. I deleted the folder using the File Manager and it worked like a charm. It was my own fault for assuming the directory was empty by default. So for anyone else having this problem - delete your images folder! Quote
