partspartner Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Hi! I would like to find and install a classified (bulletin board-type) script for my site visitors, mainly construction contractors, or local farmers wishing to buy a refurbished construction jobsite or agri equipment, parts, or tools - tractors, bobcats, frontend loaders, and such stuff. My problem is I cannot find the script that would recognize and protect my site (partner-onlineshop.com) from spam records, and I do not want, neither have time to approve and delete spam messages manually. Are there any automated spam-safe scripts available here, or elsewhere? Free if possible. Thank you for your help in advance. I think this problem is of some interest to many of this forum members. partspartner, http://www.partner-onlineshop.com Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 Unfortunately, I don´t think that finding a 100% spam safe solution is possible. Spammers tends to find ways to spam no matter what we do to keep them out but have you checked out the scripts available in the Fantastico part of your Cpanel? Quote
partspartner Posted May 2, 2007 Author Posted May 2, 2007 Unfortunately, I don´t think that finding a 100% spam safe solution is possible.Spammers tends to find ways to spam no matter what we do to keep them out but have you checked out the scripts available in the Fantastico part of your Cpanel? Even 76% spam elimination would be satisfactory. Can someone give me some positive experience examples, please? With small embeddable scripts. Not the whole-blown forums. Sorry, I cannot trust Google search in these matters since Google results are either paid for by advertisers or spam-generated (SEO) per se. I will learn what Fantastico offers, anyway, and tell you about my findings. However, based on your answers (both of you guys are internet professionals) I already see it that there is no simple solution to my problem. And that without even mentioning that my projected users (contractors and/or farmers) were not born to be internet gurus. I also hate the very idea of placing the whole forum file collection as includes onto my site. You see basically I am not a programmer. I am more in sales and sales. Going to Fantastico now. partspartner Quote
