SMinor Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Hello, I have been searching your site and others for a web host that can meet my needs. I am currently hosted with another company and I would be looking to switch hosting as soon as this weekend. I am looking for a hosting company that I can sign up with on a month to month term. I don't want to get stuck in some year contract and find out a week later they weren't all I was looking for. I plan to run Joomla! as my CMS with a module for Teamspeak server status reports. The Teamspeak query port runs on 51234 and I need to find a company that does not block this port. It could be changed on my end to any port that is open and not in use. My current host only has port 21 and 80 open so this will not work. I constantly fail to get the server status. When I talked to my current hosting company they just keep saying that I can't run Teamspeak on their web servers. I told them I have Teamspeak running on another server and don't need their servers for this. So I just need to know if I can run that module with you folks. This module requires TCP 51234 (or any other unused unblocked TCP port) Thanks in advance Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Welcome to the forum, SMinor. I don´t think this port is open by default, so you will need to open a ticket with the help desk and ask if they can open it. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 You cannot run Teamspeak on a shared server. Sorry, I just read it's running on another server. Yes, just open a ticket with the help desk and ask if they can opent that port for you. Quote
SMinor Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Thanks for the welcome. Your answer gives me hope that I may be able to get the port opened or at least another port that I could use. Is there a way that I can find out for sure if this or another port is open or can be opened? Quote
SMinor Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 You cannot run Teamspeak on a shared server. I have Teamspeak running on my own server, I just want to run a module that will check the status of the server. Quote

SMinor Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Can I submit a ticket before I become a customer? Quote
