TCH-Don Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Welcome to the forums You can download a database backup by going to cpanel > backup and click on the name of your database to download a compressed file backup. Wwhich you can later upload in the same place later if needed. Quote
Alexandre1733 Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 Welcome to the forums Alexandre Thanks... but I have the same problem..... with this compressed file backup..... example: espèce The good word: espèce I suppose, He doesn't support the french lettre..... èâçôç ..................etc...... Do you have ither option for me... bacause I don't use my backup file in problem case... Quote
stevevan Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Hopefully someone else more knowledgable than I will correct me (and then we both will know), but it appears that it will not support any other character set other than english. I'm assuming this is because of the character set on the server it self...not your computer. As a possible solution, you might want to name your files something like os1-25-07 and forum1-25-07. That way you would know which database is which and the date you made the backup. Please don't give up on making backups. In the unfortunate situation where you need it, a recent back up could be a real time saver. I speak from my own experience! Hope this helps provide you with some insight. Quote
