Is it possible to rent out subdomains on a non-reseller hosting package?

No that is a violation of the TOS

 

Your subdomains are allowed to be used for any legal purpose. You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders.

 

To sell space, you will need a reseller account.

And just to clear up another question. If I did have a reseller account am I able to resell subdomains instead of full domains? and-or both? Or am I limited to only selling full domains?

Both, its up to you.

Although subdomains will not have a cpanel or be an account with limits.

It would be a folder on your space and a sub domain user could fill up your space.

So its better to create a seperate account for a domain in the Web Host Manager.

Domain names are cheap enough now to make it a better way to go.
