kjarrett Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 (edited) Hi everyone, What is the process for restoring a MySQL backup? I'm familiar with CPanel, I have the backup file, but when I tried to restore it, nothing seemed to change. PLEASE NOTE: I AM NOT REQUESTING A RESTORE OF ANY DATABASE!!! Just want to know how to do it in case I need to again. Thanks, kj Edited December 13, 2005 by kjarrett Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 In cPanel you go to the backup function, browse for the file on your hard drive and upload it. If you are restoring a file you just backed up I wouldn't expect to see any changes. Quote
kjarrett Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 That's exactly what I did. I restored a file provided by TCH from several days prior and saw no change in the db whatsoever. How long does the process take for a 1.2mb SQL file? Is there a 'process complete' box or anything? All I got was 'done' in the status bar of the browser after it uploaded. Thanks, kj Quote
