I Want To Add Second Account As Subdomain?

I've contacted live support (Raj Nair) today, but he was unable to help, and leave chat without any notice, so I'm asking here again.

 

currently, I have account on TCH with domain www.hangebi.com

I want to purchase second account, and mount it as subdomain to hangebi.com

i.e. something like this: downloads.hangebi.com

 

is it possible or not?

Not sure I understand what you want to do, but...

 

1) If you mean that you want to point a second domain to a subdomain/folder, it would be a violation of the AUP unless you have a reseller account.

 

2) If you mean that you want to purchase a second hosting account and use that as a subdomain. I think that would be possible but not sure so I better leave that to someone else. However, I don´t understand why you in this case, don´t upgrade the space and bandwidth instead?

Yes I want a 2nd opinion.

 

Why not upgrade? because this way is cheaper. I'm paying $55/yr and getting 800mb/20gb. If I'll add second acount, I'll get for $110/yr 1600mb/40gb. And totalchoice doesn't have an acount for $110, with such bandwidth and space.

You need a top level domain to purchase a hosting account.

 

If you want to run a subdomain and require more bandwidth and disk space you will have to upgrade your account or purchase a reseller account.

Hmm, I think I don't understand one thing.

 

1. I allready own one domain, which is hosted at totalchoice, www.hangebi.com

 

2. to purchase second account, I'll need domain name, right? I have domain name, which I can use for 2nd account (www.apsni.net)

 

3. after the registration, I will be able to add 2nd account to 1st as subdomain?

 

4. if yes, then what purpose has another domain name in step 2?

A virtual hosting account cannot have any other domain names pointing to a subdomain or page other than the index.html page of the existing account.

You may not sell the subdomain space to others, nor may you point other domain names to your subfolders.

www2.hangebi.com would be a subdomain. So the only way you can do that is to upgrade to a larger plan if needed. TCH does not charge for additional subdomains, only for space and bandwidth they require.

That is correct. You can point domains to subdomains if you have a reseller account.

Yes, it is. Just open a Help Desk ticket with support and tell them what you would like.
