I recently submitted a ticket to have the domain "chicagobaseballmuseum.COM" parked so that it would be redirected to my main site, "chicagobaseballmuseum.ORG." The ticket request was completed extraordinarily fast (like 5 minutes...way to go TCH tech staff), with the returned instructions to...(copied from email):

"point the nameservers for the parked domain to

ns1.totalchoicehosting.com

ns2,totalchoicehosting.com"

When I check on the TCH domain site, it shows those servers are listed (although I gather the comma ("ns2,") in the email is a typo.)

However, when I enter the .com site in my browser, it tells me it can't be found. I checked out the Parked Domain section of cPanel, but it tells me that I'm not allowed to add any.

Is there a time lag after the new domain name is parked? Am I doing something wrong? I'm very new to all this, so pardon the ignorance.

Hi and Welcome to your extended family :lol2:

The comma was a typo.

As for the other question, yes, the new domain needs to propagate too (can take up to 72 hours).

However, I see this when entering chicagobaseballmuseum.ORG in to my browser:

Coming soon to this site...and to the City of Chicago

Is that correct?

EDIT: I missread your post a little and did some checking, the nameserver settings for chicagobaseballmuseum.COM is correct, so it should only be a propagation issue.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes...we have just a temporary page up for now while a couple of final decisions are being made. I can easily wait for the parked domain to take hold...I just usually assume that I'm doing something wrong.

Your support is great. I've heard horror stories about other hosts. TCH is the best.
