AStarWithin Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Hi, I was just wondering if the apache server was set up to do dynamic publishing for a MoveableType account... because it doesn't seem so because it didn't work for me. Here's a better explanation of what I'm talking about: http://www.movabletype.org/docs/mtmanual_d...%20requirements Thanks -Beth Quote
AStarWithin Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 oops, sorry about that, seems I've misread it... I have to create the file is .htaccess a perl script?? Quote
LisaJill Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 (edited) You didn't quite say what about it doesn't work, or what steps you've taken. It is possible to do on TCH but it's hard to troubleshoot with so little info. Moving this to a more appropriate forum. =) Edited December 21, 2004 by TCH-Lisa Quote
AStarWithin Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 well, so far i've created the template_c directory, changed the permissions, added the modified .htaccess file with the correct directory, and I've done a rebuild with it set at dynamically building only the archive templates. However, I now get this error: The requested page could not be found. Smarty error: [in mt:17 line 222]: syntax error: unrecognized tag 'MTFirstNWords' (Smarty_Compiler.class.php, line 556) when I click on an individual or monthly archive. Thanks for your help Quote
LisaJill Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 (edited) MTFirstNWords is a plugin, and while I no longer use MT, I know that most plugins are not supported by the dynamic templates (since they're perl and the dynamic templates are PHP) - that's probably the problem, you may need to remove those tags from those templates. LisaJill Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Just in response, .htaccess is not a script per se, it's a server file that can do neat things. =) That's the best explanation I can do right now, I'm very tired. But MT is a script, that's why it goes here. =) Quote
AStarWithin Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 Thanks a lot! Don't worry about the detailed explanation... i'm a senior info tech major and just didn't recognize the heading on the file as either perl or a shell script Quote
