Hi MT GURU,

My MT blog is 2.661 version and was installed by BlogHosts.com.

Because these months I received a lot of spam comments in my blog, always a few hundreds of them,it's a bog trouble for me to delete them.I want to upgrade to 3.1 version now,I've heard it's more secure than the other version.

I downloaded the upgrade package and unpacked it,and have CuteFTP5.0,and then I don't know how to do.

I've read Movable Type Upgrading Instructions, but I don't know which folder I should upload to,or maybe I should make a new folder?

Please!

Somewhere in your folders you installed the MT cgi files and the MT static files. You need to upload the new ones to their respective, existing ones in your account. Commonly, the CGI files are in public_html/cgi-bin/mt and the static files are in public_html/mt-static. But you may have chosen a different setup initially.

Hi Lisa,

Followed your reminding,I found these tow folders, they are located as you said ecactly. the CGI files are in public_html/cgi-bin/mt and the static files are in public_html/mt-static.

I am really a newbie of it.But I really want to learn. This is my first MT blog and was installed by other people,I am thinking after upgrading this one I will create the second MT blog in TCH.And really TCH helpped me a lot.

So for the upgrading, the next step is uploading the package in:

public_html/cgi-bin/ or just in public_html/ ? And then replace the old files?

I know it's very foolish questions.

A thousand thanks
