didak Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Hi there- This should be a very simple problem to fix, but I have searched forums here and elsewhere and can't seem to find the solution. Here is my sit: I have MT installed under my main domain, ie. public_html/mt I am creating a new blog under public_hmtl/svmw. I want to redirect MYMAINDOMAIN/svwm to www.NEWDOMAIN.com I have configured that in cPanel. Problem is that I then can't get that to work within the framework of the URL configuration in MT, which i put in as http://www.MYMAINDOMAIN.com/svmw/. The isuue is that i want users to see www.NEWDOMAIN.com in browser bar, of course, and not the /svmw URL I have tried a variety of configurations , but just can't seem to get this to work. Thanks- Dida Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted November 17, 2004 Posted November 17, 2004 Why not just publish to the "public_html" folder instead of a subfolder or subdomain? Quote
didak Posted November 18, 2004 Author Posted November 18, 2004 I tried this. Redirect removed and new domain name in URL config lines.(domain name is registered and has propogated) Now a rebuild points to our assets. I don't want to install MT to this new domain because i want to reuse assets (e.g., PHP includes) already created in main domain without pointing to them via a direct URL. Am I making sense? Or am I just very very tired and really not thinking this through correctly? Dida Quote
