tmccartney66 Posted November 8, 2004 Posted November 8, 2004 I like phpBB (built into TCH accounts), but the one thing I don't like about it is that I can't seem to disable automatic pruning. Do you have a favorite (preferably free) message board program? What do you like about it? How hard is it for a non-geek (well, mild geek) to install? Thanks! LisaJill Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 (edited) phpBB autopruning: Admin Panel -> Administration (Under the heading of Forum Admin on the left) -> Edit the forum of choice -> Untick "Enabled" to the right of "Auto-Pruning". I like the simple PunBB and MiniBB personally; but I don't run a forum currently; I'm waiting on one to be integrated with the CMS I use. =) Edited November 9, 2004 by TCH-Lisa Quote

Ahh - thanks. Scoop is a nice, but complicated, community system used on dailykos - I'd love to run that, but I really don't think it's possible on shared hosting. Most Scoop sites are run on a dedicated server in the webmaster's house. I'm too old to enjoy doing that again. Quote
LisaJill Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 *grins* I don't know about Scoop; I can't afford a dedicated server and have no need for one. Quote
