TCH-Thomas Posted October 31, 2004 Posted October 31, 2004 I upgraded Norton internet security a couple of days ago. Since then at startup of the computer a box comes up saying something about "Since Microsoft Outlook isn´t installed or set as standard email client it can not load ...". I am sorry, my internet security is in swedish so I don´t exactly know what this message says in english. Even if this is a poor explanation, does anyone happen to know which box I mean and what I can do to get rid of it since it drives me nuts. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Thomas, I don't use Nortons since its trashed more computers than I feel is acceptable but I will give a guess here. Nortons is a collection of software packages that help protect your computer several ways and one of those is in scanning email. I would guess that it has an option somewhere that says to scan email and Outlook is selected as your email program of choice (default maybe). For whatever reason it is not finding Outlook so it is giving you this error. Open the security consol or whatever Norton uses and find this option for Outlook an replace with your email program or just turn it off. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted November 1, 2004 Author Posted November 1, 2004 Done, I´ve disabled every single thing I can think of in NIS that have to do with outlook. Still problem though. Quote
