naughtykiss Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 Hi, I've been trying to install this guestbook, I believe I've configured everything correctly, and yet still get 500 Internal Error. http://naughtykiss.net/cgi-bin/apeboard/apeboard_plus.cgi I've submitted a ticket and the technician said that he tried to run the script in command mode, and it showed lot of error. But it couldn't possibly be a faulty script! I downloaded it straight from the website, and a lot of people have been using it with no problem...;_; I've studied the tutorials many times, and done everything I could: * Changed CHMOD settings - cgi 755 .dat 666 * correct path for the 1st line - #!/usr/bin/perl * Scripts uploaded in ASCII mode * main scripts in same folder So what else could be wrong? I'm totally beaten...>_< I tried to install megabook before, and got the same result, and I thought switching to another type of guestbook would work somehow... Here is the repeated error log: [Wed Sep 8 20:59:33 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Sep 8 20:59:33 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] Premature end of script headers: /home/naughty2/public_html/cgi-bin/apeboard_plus.cgi Please help~~ Thanks in advance!! TCH-Don Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 With out knowing where the guestbook came from, not going to be much help. Have you tried the advanced guesbook that you can have your cpanel install for you? its under cgi-scripts, and you just have to type in a folder name, follow the link to the admin page using the user and password supplied. Then in the admin, change the password. And you are set. Quote
naughtykiss Posted September 9, 2004 Author Posted September 9, 2004 (edited) Sorry I forgot to mention that the guestbook is called Apeboard Plus. It can be found here: http://www.2apes.com/products/index.html and direct download link: http://www.2apes.com/products/dwnld/apbdp_105euc.lzh A fully operational apeboard+ would look like this http://raliz12.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/sunbbs/apeboard_plus.cgi And here is the English tutorial on how to install it: http://www.geocities.com/raliz12/apehowto.html I've tried the advanced guestbook, but it looked too complicated... I preferred something simple and neat... Thanks again! --- Just realised that under the /cgi-bin directory, no files can be executed correctly, not even .html and .gif files. What could be the cause of this? >< [Wed Sep 8 22:18:31 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Sep 8 22:18:31 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] Premature end of script headers: /home/naughty2/public_html/cgi-bin/images/1.gif [Wed Sep 8 22:16:07 2004] [error] [client 24.10.182.130] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Sep 8 22:16:07 2004] [error] [client 24.10.182.130] Premature end of script headers: /home/naughty2/public_html/cgi-bin/apeboard_plus.cgi [Wed Sep 8 22:15:18 2004] [error] [client 24.10.182.130] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/favicon.ico [Wed Sep 8 22:15:17 2004] [error] [client 24.10.182.130] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Sep 8 22:15:17 2004] [error] [client 24.10.182.130] Premature end of script headers: /home/naughty2/public_html/cgi-bin/apeboard_plus.cgi [Wed Sep 8 22:15:06 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] File does not exist: /home/naughty2/public_html/500.shtml [Wed Sep 8 22:15:06 2004] [error] [client 81.79.139.180] Premature end of script headers: /home/naughty2/public_html/cgi-bin/res_file.html Edited September 9, 2004 by naughtykiss Quote
