TCH-Thomas Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Someone in here once told me how to have mirc to identify me automatically but I forgot how to. Does anyone know? Quote
LisaJill Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 go to file -> options (I forget what it's called but the preferences thing) and find the connect area, there should be a perform tab - add to that: /msg NICKSERV identify <password> Then it'll do that on connect =) Quote
Madmanmcp Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I believe its in the Options menu under CONNECT and OPTIONS I don't have mIRC here at work but will check when I go home for lunch. Quote
Madmanmcp Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 or you can add the command as Lisa has described Lisa, an FYI you can use the commands instead of using the "message" route, and on most IRC server you can use abbreviated commands. /msg NICKSERV identify <password> will be /ns identify [password] I always like fewer keystrokes because I am a two finger typists Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 Thanks Lisa & Bob - The guy who hates to do the /msg NICKSERV identify every time Quote
LisaJill Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I type 115 wpm, so I just go with habit, the two are fast enough either way. I haven't used IRC much in awhile so I don't remember shortcuts, I just knew that cos the motd tells me everytime. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 115 wpm 115 windows per minute? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Lisa, that's pretty quick. I can do about 50 wpm without mistakes. Quote
LisaJill Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 The 115wpm is after accuracy is modified, so its 100% accurate. =) I get worst if I try to slow down, somewhat pathetic really..... Quote
Madmanmcp Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Ok Thomas, I'm home and found where the password is located under the Options menu there is an EDIT button on the right side, sellect that. In the next window you enter the password for your nickname in that area thats says Password: Thats all there is to it...you won't have to type the identify again. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 Thanks Bob I´ll fix that right away. Quote
