How To Increase Php Max Execution Time

I am running a php script that hangs while building a mysql database. The developer says the process is timing out and suggests that max execution in php.ini must be set > 30, preferably to 120 to complete the database creation process.

 

Where is an appropriate place in a hosting environment to set a php request for max execution > 30?
