I built a quick website using Webeasy5 professional. Everytime I try and upload the site, I get an error "Your request has been denied by the server or the server has not responded in the specified timeout period." I have increased the timeout period but this isn't really the problem I don't think. I will admit to knowing just enough about building and publishing websites that I'm frequently frustrated. Just when I get one field figured out, it takes me 2 days to figure out what goes in the next one.... It seems that all tutorials are completely different, call different objects with different names and mention objects that you should have but have no idea where they are...ugh.

Welcome to the forums beadgoddess.

I've never used Webeasy5 so I am unsure how it does it's transfer. I am assuming that it is using FTP.

When did you purchase your hosting and domain? It can take up to 72 hours for domain propagation to complete and this may be why the publish mechanism is not working.

I downloaded the manual for this program. You need to create a profile before you can publish and the wizard should come up to allow you to do this.

For the Host Name or IP address:

enter ****** or the IP address that you received in your welcome email.

For the username:

enter yourcpanelname@******

For password:

enter yourcpanelname password (just the password)

Go to the general tab and set the initial remote folder:

enter public_html

For initial local folder:

Drive:\Folderpath-to-web-pages-on-your-machine

On the WWW tab enter your web address: www.******

Let us know how you make out.

Ok, after continually trying different things, I still kept getting the same error. I wrote to VCOM, the software developer and he tells me it's my host's problem. It was never a problem with what I entered in the log in fields, I had that correct. I decided to download an ftp program and upload it that way. I highlighted all the files I wanted transfered and when I uploaded, again, it would quit after about 10 files and sometimes even disconnect me. Sooo, I uploaded each file, one by and and eventually got it uploaded. BUT WHAT A PAIN! Could this have something to do with my internet service? Could it be that my dsl service I have will only allow me to upload so much at a time? It would often even disconnect me after uploading 1 file.

:D (warning, stupid question next): When I build my website with Web Easy, it saves all the files in one folder, with nothing in sub-folders. If I were to organize my files in my public-html file, would that screw with my site?

I will definitely look into that. This program was given to me by a girlfriend so I used it. I've always had a problem with finding a wysiwyg program that anyone would recommend with any confidence. Thanks!

I would imagine that if it is building the entire site in one folder then organizing would break it for sure. You would have to manually edit every link it creates if you move content it is expecting to find.

As for your FTP problems please open a help desk ticket (link above) the next time you encounter it and have the techs take a look.
