Pmachine Db Setup

Hi all,

 

I've been trying to find an answer to this question, with little luck. I'm currently trying to setup pmachine on my Web site. I'm following its instructions, which ask me to supply:

 

MYSQL Address (I'm using localhost)

 

MYSQL Username

 

MYSQL Password

 

Database Name

 

I created the database before hand, but when I run through the installation, I get the following message:

 

Good. A connection to your server has been established....

 

There was a problem trying to create the following database: pmachine

 

Please contact your hosting provider to verify that you have the privileges necessary to do so.

 

Anyone ever install pmachine? If so, any thoughts on what I need to do?

First, and I am sure you did this but,

be sure that you use

cpanelname_user

and

cpanelname_databasename

 

If you look at MySql there sample connection strings to show what to use.

 

 

There was a problem trying to create the following database: pmachine

 

I wonder if pmachine needs to create the database,

try removing it in MySql and reinstall pmachine?

just a thought.

I just installed pMachine the other day (I'm one of the support team over there =) ) and had created the database beforehand. It doesn't need to create it for you.

 

I'd make sure that you have the right settings like Don said. It should be fairly straightforward... =)

It turned out that I misunderstood one of the variables I needed to set, and had the db name incorrect. Changed that, and all is well!
