  1. I see that the question may be more difficult than the answer. I will not promote the old name, but I will not be able to prevent some people from still trying to use it (if they bookmarked it or if a link is provided on another site). Does this help clarify my request?
  2. Thanks, but I will need a little more guidance. I will want people that either bookmarked the old site name or find a link to the old site name to get redirected to the new name. If attaining webmaster competence can be equated to school, I'm still in grade school, but I am sitting in the front row.
  3. I have just taken over a website that I will be renaming soon. I will want to redirect visitors from the old name / site to the new name / site. This sounds like a redirect that is done after the new name / site is activated. Please let me know if this is true and any steps that I need to take that may not be obvious to a new webmaster. Thanks.
  4. Can TCH upload the files from a different host? Please list, step by step, how I can let him upload the files. I have not used the ftp manager before. Thanks. I would create an FTP account for them to upload the files to. If the account already exists on a cpanel server, then you can open a help desk ticket and ask us to transfer the files for you (we need the IP address, username and password for the old cpanel). <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  5. Thanks, I will do this. Another question. I am taking over a site and I will have the current owner transfer the files to TCH. What is the best way to do this?
  6. I currently have an account and I would like to add a second domain. What do I need to do?
  7. Found a program that works well - www.weblogexpert.com. I downloaded the full version for a 30 day trial. They also have a free version. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
  8. Yes, I'd like the archive to look like what is reported for the current month, rather than lines of text. I'll try your search recommendation.
  9. Thanks, I was able to see the text in Notepad. Two questions: 1. Is the text file all that is available? 2. Do you, or anybody reading this, have a way to convert the text file to a reader friendly format?
  10. I want to review the archived March file, but I am unable to open even after downloading the .gz file. I must be doing something wrong, so any advice would be appreciated (the more complete the advice, the better the appreciation).
