  1. Thank you. I appreciate your thorough explanation. It's so disheartening, though. I don't have that many clients, but I'd say 90% of them are not able to email me... sometimes. Sometimes they can. Is there any way to whitelist them? I know you guys aren't blocking them, but do you know if SpamCap can do that? A lot of my clients are not tech savvy. And if it's ONLY when they email me (not other people in their lives), it really does look like a problem on my end.
  2. Hi all! I've been with Total Choice Hosting for years... I don't even know how long. At least since 2010. And all of a sudden, in the past few months, my clients' emails are being blocked by SpamCop. I've reached out to the Total Choice Hosting support, and basically the reply was, "You may not like it, but others do. So deal with it." Well, I can't ask literally 90% of my clients to go un-blacklist their emails. They don't know how to do that. And it's become a real problem... I know I've lost at least one client because they become so frustrated with not being able to get emails to me. I've done a lot of searching, and it seems like this was an issue many years ago. But... am I the only one who has this issue now? I really don't know what to do. If I switch hosting companies, will that stop the issue? Or do all of them use SpamCop? Anyway, any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you've had this experience and what you did about it.
  3. Hi all! I've hosted my busines website through Total Choice Hosting for years. My emails all run through it as well. Now, after maybe 15 years, I'm getting TONS of spam. I use an Apple computer, so I use Mail as my email program. With that program, I have to manually go in and tell it what to filter and where to filter it to. I can't keep up. I went away for 4 days and when I got back, I had over 5,000 emails. Is there a way I can filter through TotalChoiceHosting? I went in and played with some settings in my cpanel, but it didn't make any difference. So I need some direction. My husband says to just change my email address, but I don't want to... I have clients from years ago who contact me via email... I don't want to lose them!
  4. Ideally, I'd like to be able to have them automatically deleted without having to download them to the computer again. If that makes sense. I don't want to have to manage them... again. I've already downloaded all of these. I'm just deleting them at this point.
  5. Hi all! Once I download my emails, I would like them kept on the server for maybe a month. But then have them automatically deleted (i.e., I don't want them deleted right away... but after a period of time). How do I do this? I am using Mail on an iMac. Periodically, my email just stops working. In the past, I've found it's easiest to just delete the account in Mail and recreate it. I just did that... and now I'm getting over 69,000 emails downloading... from all the way back to January 2014. I don't need them saved that far back, but I can't see in my cpanel where to change this. Thanks! julie
  6. About a week ago, my emails started showing up with a date and time from September of this year. I'm on an iMac using Mail. The date and time on my computer are correct. Then the problem fixed itself. But again today, all my emails are coming in with the date of December 11, 2011... and the wrong time. Someone on the Apple forum suggested checking with my hosting company. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it something I can fix myself? Or do I need to contact customer support? Thank you!
  7. Thanks! I submitted a trouble ticket.
  8. Sorry... I guess that information was irrelevant. I'm a graphic designer... I sent a pdf to a print to have them print it. He keeps getting that same email over and over...
  9. Hi all! I sent a file to a printer today, about 2 hours ago. Apparently he's been getting that same email every 5 minutes since then. My sent folder shows only the one email that I sent him. I am not sure what to do. He's the only one who has reported this problem to me. Would it be on my end or his? He says my email is the only one that is doing this. Please let me know the best way to trouble shoot this problem. I'm using an iMac and Mail3.6 as my email program. Julie
  10. Well, good grief. I didn't see that before. Sorry... and thanks so much! Julie
  11. Hi! I would like to know if it's possible to set up an automatic reply to let people know I'm on vacation. I know how to do this using my email program, but I'd like to shut down my computer while I'm gone. Can I set this up through the cPanel? I looked and it wasn't obvious. Thanks so much. Julie
  12. I posted this earlier, but I don't see it anywhere. It's one of those days. Since about 3pm yesterday, I have not been getting any emails through my account hosted by Total Choice Hosting. I AM getting other emails from different accounts, so I know my Mail program is working. I am also able to access the Internet without any problems. However, I cannot load my web page or get on to my ftp site. I also tried to check my email by going to mydomainname.com/webmail, but that doesn't load either. Is is safe to assume it's not a problem on my end? I've had TCH host my web site for several years, and have not changed anything. So I'm not sure why all of a sudden I can't access anything. Any thoughts or ideas? I am frustrated, as I don't know what's "broken" so I don't how to fix it! Thanks! Julie
  13. Thank you both! I'm using Roadrunner with the CA firewall as well. Must be something goofy about that system. Well, I've been spoofed again. I had over 1,600 emails in my "junk" folder this morning. Sigh. But thank you both! I appreciate your help. Julie
  14. Hi! I was looking for the right forum to post this... but I don't see one regarding email problems. Did I miss it? If so, please point me in the right direction. I'm having two issues with email: 1. I noticed that I was getting emails that were several days old. I always keep just a few emails in my inbox, so it's noticeable when a new email comes in. I was seeing that emails were coming in older than ones I'd already seen. After a few days, I went to my cpanel to check my email... and sure enough (this was a Monday) there were several emails from the previous week (all the way back to Wednesday) just sitting there. For some reason, they weren't downloading into my Outlook program. What could cause this to happen (or not happen, as it were)? 2. I'm getting TONS of returned emails from emails I didn't send. I've heard of this happening... I'm guessing someone is using my email to send out spam? I had over 400 "delivery status notification" emails in my junk folder this morning. Is there anything I can do about this? Should I be concerned (as opposed to just annoyed)? Thank you! Julie PS I just started using Total Choice Hosting email about 3 weeks ago. So I'm new to the process. They've hosted a web site for me for a long time, but I've not used the email part of it until now.
  15. Hi all! I'm running OS 10.3.7 on my G4. I use GoLive v 6. I've never been able to connect to my ftp site using GoLive. I have no idea why. I posted here many months ago and got great suggestions, but nothing worked. No problem... I use Fetch instead. However, last weekend I reformatted my hard drive. I backed up everything... except my Fetch shortcuts. No problem again, right? Wrong. Now I CANNOT get onto the ftp site no matter what I try. I even tried on my pc, so I know it's not a Mac thing. I type in ftp.mysite.com. Then my username and password. But I get a time out! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... before I tear out ALL of my hair! Thanks! Julie
