Thanks for the info. I am also happy to announce that I did get the soupermail script after many frustrating tries. Believe it or not, the path to sendmail was not as it was stated that it should be. Thanks for eveyone's help Gina

OK - I'm giving up on soupermail. It's just frustrating as I have used this script before and it's currently working on a huge form I've created at my workplace. Can you suggest a script that I can use for a simple form where the forms contents are able to be sent to an email address instead of a database?

Hi Guys: I'm pleased to announce it's been a long time since I've needed help, but I found myself in a bind. I've created a pretty simple form called form.hml as well as a config file for it named formconfig.txt. Both the form and the config file I have placed in the root directory. I'm using soupermail (which I've used before) but everytime I fill out a test form and submit it, I get an error saying that it was unable to find or read the config file. Soupermail.pl is in my cgi-bin directory and I have done a chmod 755 on that file as well as the config file. Is MIME already installed or do I need to install that too? Below I've listed the items that needed to be changed and what I changed them to. Can you eyeball something that's incorrect? To All Who Are Considering TCH & To All Who Are a Part Of TCH: First and foremost I would like to say that when I stumbled across TCH's website I thought this service was way too good to be true. Compared to what everyone else is charging for website hosting I thought there must be some kind of gimmick or the service is probably very shotty. Well, this is the best move I have made so far. I have received nothing but superior service so far and the TCH techs and members are awesome. 2 days after I came on board, I had everything up and running smoothly. I'm not saying I didn't have any difficulties because I did but when I posed the problems to TCH I received great feedback and suggestions on how to solve the problems. Everything I was instructed to try worked. Now I can concentrate on developing my website and getting my business up and running. Kudos to TCH Gina

Hi There - I'm back again. I knew it was too good to be true... Anyways, I actually did get my email working through the AOL dial up connection. The problem is, I need to be very quick. What happens is I connect to AOL, I then open Outlook Express which connects and sends any messages in my outbox and then receives any new email and then my AOL connection is disonnected. This happens everytime. What I've learned that I have to do is prepare any emails I need to send ahead of time (before I dial up to AOL). That way, as soon as the AOL connection is made, I open Outlook Express and it gives me just enough to send those outgoing emails (I've only tried one at a time so far). I've also already changed the port to 26. Any suggestions? Maybe I would be better off trying to use Outlook instead.?? Gina

Thanks for the info Bob. I finally got things set up so that I can receive emails to my new account without any problems. Now I just need to figure out how to send emails from new account. I keep getting errors. It's probably an AOL thing - One of them says "The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was 'XXX@xxx.com'. Subject ", Account: 'mail.xxx.com (1)', Server:'mail.xxx.com', Protocol:SMTP, Server Response: '452 4.4.5 Insufficient disk space;try again later', Port:25, Secure (SSL): No, Server Error:452, Error Number: 0x800CCC78" I did "try again later" like it said and then I got the following message: "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail.xxx.com(1)', Server:'mail.xxx.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port 25, Secure (SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" I am going to search around the forums to see if I can find anything pertaining to this......

I'm keeping my fingers crossed though - I would love for this to be a good experience as web/email troble is the last thing I need in addition to opening a new business. Quick question. I know you have probably answered this question a million times but how about a million and 1 more time. I currently have dial up AOL as my ISP. I just purchased a web host plan from tch and was reading about how to set up email. The instructions say I need to know what my ISP's outgoing mail server is. The answer AOL gave me was "AOL email system is not compatible with POP3 or SMTP protocols for sending and receiving email. I just purchased a domain name and will need to set up 3 different email accounts at this new domain. Will I still be able to use your services without AOL's info? I really hope so as I am excited to be a new member and am anxious to get my website and email accounts up and running. Gina
