browsing Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 I've got Spam assasin at another host, but each time I enable it, nothing seems to happen! Soo... I wonder if it WORKS right out of the box here? I really need to start shifting the filtering to happening on the server instead of on my own PC... Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 Works pretty much by just enabling it through cPanel. And we have a setup that's been working for lots of folks. You can read about it here: Filtering with Spam Assassin Quote
browsing Posted May 7, 2004 Author Posted May 7, 2004 Thanks for the info. Looks promising for TCH. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be able to make it work with my old host :-( Can't find the options described in the tutorial... Quote
ThumpAZ Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 They may have a less aggressive setup over at your current host. And then have not given you access to any or all of the settings. Over here, you have almost complete control over what SA does... or doesn't do. Quote
annie Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 Now that I have access to my TCH control panel, I see the differences. There's no spam box set up at the other host, and the email filters are different. You can only choose to discard, nothing else. So that makes me wonder what actually happens when you enable Spam Assasin. At any rate nothing seems to happen anyway. So my only choice there would be to disable the whole thing. Quote
