Alan
Today I was checking through some spam, when I came upon one that had: ( organ@gesm.ge.com Thu, 12:58 am A+ Re: Secure SMTP Message ) IF you get this message, DO NOT OPEN THE msg[1].zip file!!!! Norton AntiVirus: Virus Alert: Norton AntiVirus has detected a virus on your computer. Object Name: C:\Documents and Settings\NetDownloads\msg[1].zip Virus Name: W32.Netsky.P.dam Action Taken: Unable to repair this file. But it did not hurt nothing yet, I am going to see what it does, report the E-Mail and IP Address, then reformat.
TCH-Bruce
Well, you should never open attachments from an email address you don't know. And even if you get an attachment from someone you do know you should still run it through a virus scan before opening it. Alan
Hehe, Usually I do, but for some reason it got out of my mind. And my local ISP owner, also does research on viruses, so I will package it on a disk and give it to him whenever I get a chance to go to his office. TCH-Thomas
Dont you have Norton set to automatically scan incoming?
Alan
First Scan: Scanned: 458996 Detected: 1 Fixed: 0 Deleted: 1 Second Scan: Scanned: 458996 Detected: 0 Fixed: 0 Deleted: 0 That is more like it. Just if you get the E-Mail, you might want to delete it as soon as you get it.
Alan
Yes Thomas, But I do not always pay attention to the popups. When I get a few in a row for me running new programs such as games, or to download files, I just click enter through them, I am laying on my bed lol. TCH-Bruce
Rob, You open what anyway? Probably the attachments. Since he's running Linux he wouldn't get infected.

TCH-Bruce
Either life is unfair or im running wrong o/s. TCH-Raul would say you are running the wrong o/s. But it's a personal preference that I choose to run Windows.
TCH-Rob
Yes, I am running BSD, my wife is still running Windows. I do not really open them, I dont give them the time of day really. Just delete, delete, delete all day long. Thomas, there is no wrong operating system or wrong computer or wrong anything if it is doing it's function. As long as it does what you need it to then it is the right one to have.
