Head Guru
How we loose to the flames in OT is beyond me. Well we did loose in the first round last year to the Ducks.... So go figure.

stevevan
With all the Hall-of-Fame talent, they'd better! (But didn't they have most of this talent last year too and lost in round 1?)

Hockeypuck
Go SHARKS!!! No. The Wings are way cooler. Anywho, how'd you like that 5-1 win today HG?
Head Guru
I think the time off wasnt good for the Wings. Game one they looked sluggish and out of synch. I am just so happy they got the power play back in groove, it was looking pretty ugly. Watching Stevie blast two shots past Kiprusoff was like eye candy. Just loved it! GO WINGS! I think the sharks are a very very good team btw. I was really hoping they would not make it to the next round. They are scary. Oh, can you tell we love hockey up here in Michigan
stevevan
HG: We like it down in Florida, too! Go Lightning! (Even though I have been impressed with Philly's two wins thus far!)
Head Guru
Yea but look at the team Philly is playing. Toronto is simply tired. Belfour has looked awful. I think the two teams to beat (right now) are the Sharks and Tampa Bay. They are young and full of fire. With that said, I think experiance wins games in the playoffs. So round 3 will be interesting. Go Wings. It is funny I live in detroit and yet the wings are not my fav team
scotttyz
Oh, can you tell we love hockey up here in Michigan Much of my Family is in Mich. My cousin even has a picture of her kissing the last cup the wings won. I think I was just born in the wrong state, but o well..... GO SHARKS! TCH-Dick
ah the eagle from the stars team eh mike? Yup, I was sad when Dallas let Belfour go. Turco is good, but he's no Belfour
iconocoustica
Bill, I moved from Livonia, MI 3 years ago to NC, and became a big fan of the Wings while there. I moved here just in time to see the Wings kill the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley. (I pulled for the Wings). Here is hoping they can go all the way this year, though Tampa Bay is looking pretty scary right now. Franklin
Hockeypuck
Game 3 has been stressful so far. Nothing but back and forth scoring in the second.

stevevan
He might be the ugliest, but (IMO) Ty Domi has to be the dirtiest! (Lightning zapped Montreal! Go figure!)
Head Guru
TORONTO (April 30, 2004) -- The National Hockey League announced today that Calgary Flames forward Ville Nieminen has been suspended for one game for a charging incident against Detroit Red Wings goaltender Curtis Joseph in an NHL Western Conference semifinal game played on April 29. The incident occurred at 19:56 of the third period. Nieminen was assessed a major penalty for charging and game misconduct on the play. Nieminen will miss Game Five of the series to be played tomorrow afternoon in Detroit.
stevevan
That was one that the NHL should definitely do what they did. On a related subject, I know that they want to crack down on interfering with the goalkeepers, but it's really becoming ridiculous. For example, last night's game (TOR vs PHI), John LeClair got a penalty for freeing his arm while being pushed towards and brushing (not hitting) Belfour's mask with his elbow. There have been numerous instances to each extreme. Some get called, others don't. Weird!
Head Guru
Well tonight is do or die for the Wings. Good news is that Stevie should be able to have full use of his eye. Anyways, my best friend told me today. "If the Wings loose tonight, they will fire Dave Lewis and Hire Barry Melrose". Off topic but I really like to see Melrose in detroit. GO WINGS! stevevan
Good to hear the word on Stevie Y. That really looked nasty on TV. Kinda makes one wonder about mandatory eye protection as they have in all ranks of hockey through college. Can Detroit go down two years in a row? woooot
TCH-Don
I can't believe how lucky he is not to lose that eye, thank god he will be ok. That was one awful hit.
stevevan
HG (and other Wings fans): My condolences on the loss of the Detroit Red Wings. With all that talent, they should have gone all the way. Perhap it's time for a coaching and/or player change. They just don't appear to have things together for playoff games. My money's still on a Tampa Bay - Sharks cup final. ThumpAZ
Go Tampa!! (The Coyotes have been awful, as has any other PHX team for the last couple years, so I can't pull for them)
