Upgrading To A Reseller Account...

Hi everyone.

I already have an account on TCH but now I want to buy a reseller account.

When I was already filling the request form, I blocked when I arrived at the domain field...

Since I don't want to set up a website promoting my hosting services (I'll work on a more personal basis) I don't think I need a domain name for my reseller account... although it would be nice, of course...

So my question is: can I upgrade my normal account to a reseller account, making the necessary adjustments to the payment, of course?

Basically, the idea is to take the remaining money I paid for my normal account, put it into the payment for the reseller account, pay the remaining difference and transfer my current account and it's contents to my reseller account. Is this (or something similar) possible?

If so, what do I have to do?

I'm in a bit of a hurry, since I already have some people who want to host their websites with me.

I know I should have taken care of this earlier but as a good portuguese citizen, I always let things drag until the last minute... tongue.gif

Thanks in advance.

Raul

In order to have a reseller account, or any account for that matter, you will need to designate a domain name. This is not necessarily to promote the reselling, but the servers REQUIRE each account to be set up with a domain name.

Your best bet is to open a support ticket, and we will go into deeper detail about the transfer of the accounts with you.

Thanks!

Humm... a domain is required to register an account? But yesterday, when browsing for an answer to this matter, I found this thread, in which spitwad says an account doesn't necessarily need a domain name...

What about the account transfer idea? Is it possible?

The idea is to transform my normal account into a reseller account so I can use the same domain name.

I would submit a help desk ticket if I had access to it but I'm still waiting for someone to send me my username and password, since I didn't receive any e-mail with that information.

Please help me, I'm starting to get a little short on time... B)

Thanks.

Raul

I was discussing this with the Head Guru just the other night about another client who had asked that, and yes, you do have to have a domain name for a reseller account. Our servers require a domain name when we set the account up.

Yes, that will work.

Please send me an email to tony@totalchoicehosting.com with your name, your domain name, cpanel login, and password, and we will get this resolved.
