TCH-Thomas Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I am running around trying to find a alternative email for people that may spam me. Until now i have used hotmail and yahoo, but someone in another forum recommended me spymac.com. Has anyone here ever heard of them or used them? Their free offer sounds too good to be true. Quote
kaseytraeger Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Thomas, I've never heard of SpyMac, but I have heard of Mailinator. You can find it at www.mailinator.com I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for (I haven't looked at the SpyMac web site), but mailinator gives you a temporary email address that expires after a certain number of uses. TCH-Dick Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Never used spymac, but I've heard some pretty bad stories about how the site is run. It is suposed to be a Mac news site, but from what I've been told they have fabricated stories in the past, even gone so far as to photoshop images for the news stories. I've heard their latest free e-mail push is just a way to try and get more traffic so they can sell ad space. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Kasey, that mailinator site is a great idea. Thanks for the info. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 12, 2004 Author Posted April 12, 2004 Ok, I throw spymac out of my head. Quote
TCH-Don Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Has anyone had www.mailinator.com work for them? I tried it at 11 am, and at 3:30 pm still no message. Quote

Deverill Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I use sneakemail.com which gives me addresses that forward to me but if they start collecting spam I can delete them. Quote
