Packages For Multiple Domains

I have 6 domain names. The main one is a small seasonal ski wax business that I have had for several years, is growing well, uses very little space and is already set up with a Paypal shopping cart. The second is a new startup web design business, and the rest are fun family picture sites with extremely low traffic. Can you work with me to come up with an economical hosting solution?

I now use featureprice.com and pay $25/month for 6 sites. I used to brag abouth them but they have gone straight down the tubes. :) I use customer support about once per year, but now it takes multiple tickets, big time runarounds, and 1-2 weeks to get an issue resolved. :) I think all their customer email support comes from India. Please tell me you will treat me like a human being! :D

Well, as a former FP customer, I can *assure* you that TCH will treat you better than FP. (Check out findmyhosting.com for TotalChoice reviews, and yourhostsucks.com for FP reviews.)

It sounds to me as if one of the reseller packages would do exactly what you want. Just buy a reseller package and host all your domains through it. You don't have to sell any of them--just use them yourself! (That's what Lianna has recommended to me, and if I need another site or two, I might just do that!)

*YAY* Beth!

Yep, TCH can do exactly what you want done. All six domains through one reseller account. Depending upon your bandwidth usage and cumulative site size, you be able to pick from the plans we have available and stay close to your current price range. (See Reseller Plans here.)

I had a Platinum and a Premium package with other said host. Hosting a total of 10 domains there. From reading all the reviews of the past 3 months, I'd say I got out just in time. I haven't looked back once.

For the Basic Reseller Plan here, you'll pay a whopping $3.99 more each month and get a jillion times the support, goodies in cpanel, control over your domains, and US (the family).

Good luck in your search for a new home.

 OMG, I feel like an orphan that just got adopted!

I love everything I see already! The fact that you have an open forum says alot to me; when I saw this I was very impressed. People who are honest have nothing to hide or fear.

I think I would like to call & talk to a sales person & discuss some options. Is it hard to get through? I want to start tomorrow.

One last thing about FP... I called their 800-number technical support line the other day because all my 6 sites were down and this is exactly what they said, "Thank you for choosing FeaturePrice.com, have a nice day." ... THEN DISCONNECTED ME!

I am very very impressed, thx all.

I'm glad you're impressed so far and thanks.

While TCH does have an emergency tech support number, there is no direct line for sales.

However, if you go to the bottom of that resellers plans page that I gave you the link for earlier, you can click the Operator Chat image. If it says the operator is online, then you will be in a realtime chat with TCH. If it says Offline, then you can click to leave and message.

Anyway, we'll do what we can to get your questions answered.

Recently I have moved one of my customer's sites here to TCH and have been very impressed with the service. To use a frequently used TCH forum term, the support team seems to really 'Rock'.

I manage several sites and I have considered moving all of them to TCH. This has lead me to obviously consider the reseller program but I have a problem with offering shared hosting on a server that my customers could get directly for a lot less money ($4.00/mn vs. say $20.00/mn).

Justification for the additional charge was partly satisfied by kW's and Lianna's comments on another thread. I agree with them that many small businesses do enjoy being 'spoon feed'. Thus offering services of domain name registration, redirecting DNS server names, adding email accounts, etc would justify the extra expense.

However, in Megard's case (removing the service argument):

Six domains at TCH directly would be $4.00 a month (300 MB disk space, 5.5 GB transfer per domain = 1800 MB of disk space and 33 GB of transfer).

Six domains using TCH's reseller program would be 19.99 a month (550 MB of disk space and 8 GB of transfer to be shared by all 6). If by chance you need more 'humph', you will need to upgrade your reseller account and be over the 'savings' ratio.

Is my math correct.... a $3.99 difference for a whole lot more?

D.,

Your math is correct. My math is based on the following formula:

Cost of TCH Basic Reseller - Current host expense = $3.99 difference.

You make very valid points. The other advantage to a Reseller account vs. 6 individual accounts is the addition of WHM to the reseller. So a reseller account can effectively manage all their domains and have available many more options in one interface with one login ... and host more than six domains at no additional cost.

Lots of perks to the reseller plans, that's why they are higher in cost as compared to simple BW/Space comparison. Like comparing apples and oranges.

I understand the advantage of managing all the domains from one interface but,

... and have available many more options ...

Not sure what you mean here ... could you elaborate?

Thanks.

I can, with WHM:

List my accounts and view their current space use and quota

Create the Skelton directory pages for new accounts

Terminate an Account

Modify an Account (including its cpanel theme)

Upgrade/downgrade an account (having made my own packages)

View bandwidth usage and modify/limit that usage

Suspend accounts / customize the suspended account page

Password modification

disable/enable subdomains for an account

reset shopping carts

modify/customize the cpanel news for my accounts

...

among other things.
