pphoa Posted February 25, 2003 Share Posted February 25, 2003 On a few forum topics/threads, I've clicked on "Track this topic Receive email notification when a reply has been made to this topic and you are not active on the board. " However, I'm not getting the e-mail. This has happened on a few topics, some of which I started. I click the "track this topic" again and it tells me I'm already subscribed. I'm not leaving my browser open or something that I know of to avoid (?) getting the e-mail. I do have it set to automatically log me in to the forums, though. I'm going to go test this, but I'm thinking that Invision still thinks that you are logged in until idle for a period of time. With the option I mentioned earlier checked to yes, it apparently automatically does the same thing as clicking the Track This Topic link in any given thread. I wonder why it's not working. I have to think that I have really been logged in when someone else responded. Maybe there should be a setting for getting e-mail all the time even if I am supposedly logged in. From the email that I received notifying me that a post had been made to a topic that I was subscribed to: lstover, pphoa has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed to titled "Not being notified of tracked topics". The topic can be found here: http://forums.totalchoicehosting.com/index...t=ST&f=16&t=890 There may be more replies to this topic, but only 1 email is sent per board visit for each subscribed topic. For example, if you log in at 8am and log out at 9am, that is one incident, so if 3 people respond before you log back in, then you would receive only the one (first) email. However, if you then login at 10am and log out at 11am. Then someone responds at 11:30, you should then receive another email. That is how my test showed the incidence of emails. But I absolutely received NO emails for tracked topics if I did not Log Out via that option atop this board. Now, if this is still not happening for you and you are using the Log Out link atop the board before closing your browser, then please let me know.
