Head Guru
ok as most of you know I work a ton of hours here at TCH. I was watching Television today for the first time in a while. Are those Rat's in the Quizno Ad's. What is with their eyeballs? Man, what did I miss?
!!blue
I don't know either, but, let me tell you that I hope someone got fired over that one It reminds me of bad videos you find over the web like the Charlie Brown version of Outkast's "Hey Ya!" or those VH1 clips of singing & rocking kitties. But that Quizno's one? .... It's just bizzare.... it was only funny once. later, !!blue
Head Guru
Ok Here is the spot http://img.slate.msn.com/media/44/Quiznos_100k.asf Just odd!

schussat
I sort of like the weird rat-things. It's kind of like stream-of-conscious 80s rock, somehow. Just weird enough to get my attention, but not weird enough to really freak me out. And hey, if it's not Jared From Subway, I'm all for it! Alan
lol, Hey Bill! Wacky Idea #1' lol Get anyone who wants to help out, and we all (Everyone who wants to help tch out) pitch in, and purchase a 5 min ad, And like all meet somewhere, and take a huge family photo! lol And like a slogan "Family Comes First!" or something at the top, and like fade out and put the best of the Customer Comments, you have, fading out one after the other! Hehe!
n2access
That is one weird ad. So weird that I remembered it was for Quiznos. Hum... How 'bout if the head guru streaks the Oscars with www.TotalChoiceHosting.com painted on his body... One weird ad...

LunarMagic
I think the LAST thing that commercial makes me want to do is eat. It wasn't even funny once, it just kinda creeped me out... and it looks like some children drew it, to boot. Just very odd. I've never eaten at Quizno's, sorry to say. But after seeing those weird hamster-things, I'm not going to either. Ugh.
HCSuperStores
I'm with the Head G Bill on this one. TV - bad .... web development GOOD! I barely know what a Quiznos is! Did you know that your metabolism actually goes LOWER than if you were sleeping while you watch TV. However, web development burns all sorts of calories while you type! I have really I AM A SPAMMER fingers now! Ok ... I'm getting punchy ....

DarqFlare
I saw it once and was trying to figure out if it was for real... They achieved what they wanted: everybody knowing about Quiznos. I never liked them in the first place...
schussat
So, I saw the ad again last night, sitting on the sofa with my wife. When those little rats sing "They got a pepper bar!" I just lost it. My wife, of course, thinks I've gone stark raving bonkers, but that one line still sends me right over the edge. I cannot control it; I'm giggling right now. I think the last ad I enjoyed so much for its bold non-sequiters is the Jack in the Box ad that lampooned big trucks: A hopelessly over-designed pickup truck is squealing around in the mud with slow-mo rain falling all around it, and Little Bo-Peep is standing there with a lamb in her arms, and Jack comes running (in slow-mo again) along with a hard-hat on, to save her. Brilliant.

Brilliant. I agree. That one line makes me burst out laughing, and all day at my keyboard, I keep saying "they got a pepper bar". Last ad spot that had this much effect on me was the "Wasabie" spots for busweiser. I agree Quiznos is not as good as Tubby's Subs, but it is better than Subway. ThumpAZ
My wife's company does the interior design for Quizno's, and was aware of the coming commercials some time in advance. I laugh my tail off every time I see them... and "they got a pepper bar" is ringing in my head 24/7. They definitely are living rent free in many people's heads.
