You Are a Gift Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I am considering switching from my current webhost because of poor phone and email service and response time. Your email responses on this board seem timely and thorough (and encouraging and fun ! Thanks), but if I have a problem that is not an emergency, I noticed there's no phone contact. If I have a problem that can't be solved by email, how do I talk to a real person by phone? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I noticed there's no phone contact. If I have a problem that can't be solved by email, how do I talk to a real person by phone? If you have a problem, there are several ways to get a response. Just check out the Support Page. Opening a help ticket will get you a very timely response. Quote
MikeJ Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Just speaking as a customer... Their preferred method for interactive contact seems to be Instant Messaging (AIM and Yahoo!), although they also use Skype (but that's windows only so I haven't tried it). All my interactions with them have been very good. Support tickets are responded too in a very timely manner as well. And even when I requested an additional drive and more memory for my dedicated server, at 11pm on a Sunday night, via instant messenger, they were installed 5 hours later (yes... 4am Monday morning... and I was going to be happy to have it done within a week!). TCH-Sales Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 Yes we do have a phone number on our support page for emergency situations. However, I belive you'll find our many other forms of support just as useful. With having the live support via the opperator, yahoo messanger, or aim you know you can talk to a real person anytime. Then with our tutorials and help site, you could find the answer to your question without having to ask. Last but not least we have the help desk where you can put in a help desk ticket in which we will have one of our techs personally look at your situation from the inside. If you got anymore questions please let us know! Quote
boxturt Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 I have to agree. The few times I needed assistance (MY screw ups) folks here were on it in no time. I have used both the help desk as well as the instant messaging. This place is really the tops! Rock Sign Quote
youneverknow Posted February 23, 2004 Posted February 23, 2004 If I have a problem that can't be solved by email, how do I talk to a real person by phone? You Ask...well you can't...but then by not having techs answering phone calls 24/7... TCH can offer web hosting at an very low price. All my contacts with TCH have been handeld in under an hour and their server monitoring is TOPS! All outages are discussed openly and honestly and repaired FAST! I was a little apprehensive when I first joined TCH 6 months ago because I too thought a live person on the phone was the best way to communicate. I was turned around on that thought when TCH responds so quickly. Usually faster than being on hold for half hour or more. youneverknow Rock Sign Quote
DarqFlare Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Above all, the best option here is to enter a Support Ticket. Quote
stevevan Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Having worked as a Tech Support person for a local ISP for a few years, I talked my company into allowing us to use IM in addition to telephone (aka "live person") support. The response went higher than expected. TCH support, in my opinion, is way above that. They are always open, honest, and quick. Support tickets or IM are the way to go. Quote
Dark Angel Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 I've also been a customer here for a bout a year, and let me tell you that anytime I need help and post a help ticket, these guys are really there to help. Sometimes, when it's not urgent, they take an hour or two, but at he minute you tell them you have a big/terrible/uncontrolable problem, they'll help in like 2 minutes. I only have a small account here as I only own a single website with like 1000 visitors a day so I don't pay a lot. But they still help me anytime I need... I I was sure they wouldn't do I first sign up. I mean, almost no company help small clients like me. Quote
You Are a Gift Posted March 8, 2004 Author Posted March 8, 2004 I am blown away by the positive responses! Thank you! Quote
scotttyz Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 As a new TCH customer I had the same feelings as you at first (Mr/Ms Gift). Getting rid of that phone number was hard for me at first. But I have had all myquestions answered very quickly from TCH via chat, forum or tickets. Faster than the 24/7 phone service at my last host. I added the TCH group to my yahoo! messanger and I dont know if I have ever seen less than 2 of them "available". The benifit I have found, from asking questions via the forum, is you get responses from not only TCH-Guru's but from customers as well. I noticed this really helps in finding alternate ways around a problem. Rock Sign Quote
bellringr Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I only have a small account here as I only own a single website with like 1000 visitors a day I'll be lucky to get 1000 visitors a YEAR, so obviously nothing on my account is even close to urgent, but my questions have always been answered within minutes. I love having AIM as an option. Quote
