TCH-Dick
I am the WORLDS WORST when it comes to picking good gifts....for ANY occasion. (just ask my wife) After 15 years you would think I would have it all figured out by now. Anyway, I already have the dozen roses being delivered to her at work, but now I need something else....Simply because she wont expect it (I did good remembering the roses) Sooo, if you have any ideas, suggestions lets hear em. Also, if you just have any good stories of how you surprised your significant other lets hear those to
DarqFlare
Well, there are a lot of things that come to mind here, but we'd need to know what kinds of things you've given her in the past for V-Day... I don't want to suggest something you've done. Then again, I imagine there are certain things you cannot say, so.. heh. I've got tongs of ideas. I'm creative and a hopeless romantic so I know all about this stuff! Have you considered blindfolding her and taking her to a romantic restaurant and having roses already on the table? Maybe having someone sing to you two there? Dancing involved? Maybe something like a "Prom" for your marriage?
TCH-Dick
dancing is out of the question, I have two left feet. I've done the dinner thing before, cooked dinner for her before, had someone serenade her, bought 3 dozen assorted flowers and put each one in it's own vase (actually a dixie cup) and put them around the house in different places I knew she'd find them, some in the car, and even had someone put them on her desk at work, had one rose a day delivered to her starting on feb 1st and ending with a dozen on feb 14th. The hopeless romantic stuff, I have covered....I just need gift ideas
GroovyFish
One year, my husband put little notes and card around the house, in my purse, in my car, any place where I would find then...that was really sweet! Another year, he delivered the flowers in person to my office...it was very sweet. All of the other women received flowers too, but were jealous that mine were delivered in person. I really feel for you guys! They really gouge you on flowers and with all the commercials on TV make you feel like you have to go out and spend a ton of money (jewelry, etc). Personally, I don't want anything expensive...flowers are fine, jewelry is ok, but I prefer the personal touch. Like the notes everywhere, that I remember and cherish, the flowers are gone in a couple days. I am at a loss at what to do for the hubby this year (besides the obvious ) I am not feeling very creative lately, any ideas from you men out there? What would you want on valentine's day? TCH-Dick
I make it easy for my wife when it comes to ANY gift giving occasion, I have three hobbies (if you wanna call them that) computers, music (listening and TRYING to play) and game consoles (old and new, even tho I don't play them much) Anything related to those three things and I'm happy. I think men make it easy in general, we just want more stuff, even if it's stuff we don't need we want it anyway. If my best friend has some cool stuff I don't have, I want cooler stuff!! GroovyFish
Mike, A friend of mine did this for his wife last year: He got a bunch of pictures together of him and his wife thoughout their relationship and either scanned them, or already had them from his digital camera and made a collage in photoshop and printed it, bought a nice frame and had one of her co-workers put it on her desk before she got in to work. If you aren't good in photoshop, you could gather pictures and create a little photo album and write a little note about how much you love her, and how lucky you are by each photo. Corny I suppose? You sound alot like my husband, except for the console games, but he is really into MOH and COD right now.. My problem is that he goes out and gets all the stuff he wants as soon as it comes out so it leaves little for me to go get for him. I wish Valentine's wasn't so close to christmas, after banging my head against a wall, I finally found some "stuff" that he didn't have and got it for him for christmas, now I am out of ideas

Virtual Imager
Guys, guys, guys... don't you know how easy we are? LINGERIE. That's it... just lingerie... maybe with a note that says something to the effect of 'she puts it on and you take it off'... every woman wants to feel sexy... especially on Valentine's Day. Oh, but don't hold back... it has to be nice and, preferably, expensive. And not slutty. Lace works. VI
DarqFlare
(When referring to certian undergarments, please choose wording carefully.. Just a reminder). Well, as far as lingerie goes.. If your wife likes it, then definitely go for it. It is Valentine's Day after all, and that is incredibly romantic. A "gift for the both of you." Have you seen the three-diamond necklasses that jewelers have these days? They're nice, you could look into those...

bellringr
This is a hard one for me because our anniversary is two weeks after Valentine's Day, so often we have big plans for the 28th and don't do much on the 14th. I like flowers, but honestly red roses cost a FORTUNE in February and I prefer lilies and carnations anyway. One year my husband sent me a small vase of flowers early in the morning, then later on I got a candy bouquet, and in the afternoon I got a big vase of flowers. Another year he decorated my cubicle with four mylar balloons (one in each corner) and a HUGE heart mylar balloon tied to the back of my chair, plus some chocolates. Let me tell you, I was the envy of all the women on the floor, and my VP asked if hubby could give some lessons to the other husbands. I've had a barbershop quartet come sing for my husband before - I think that's pretty cool. You know, you don't have to do something NEW each year - we really do appreciate the thought more than the price of the gift. How about making up some nice coupons on the computer for various things like 15 minute shoulder rub, cooking dinner, dinner and a movie, etc. that she can use throughout the whole year? The only thing my hubby rarely does that I really like is put in the time to get me a nice, romantic card that says something special. He did last year (shocked the heck out of me!) and I really treasure that card. How about getting her a maid for a day? This year we aren't doing much again since we'll be in St. Lucia over our anniversary. woooot woooot
TCH-Thomas
And most women love stuffed animals. Not only women. Sorry Mike for not posting/solving ideas for your problem. I will try to think.

DarqFlare
Yeah, I have the perfect idea for a tattoo you can get! [looks over to his avatar logo] See! It would look great on you two! I have a great idea for something you could do for her, but it's not a gift. It's a "process" if you will... Give her a bath! A romantic one... natimage
Mike...have you ever given her a gift certificate to a local spa for a professional massage? Another thought...hire a professional photographer to do your portraits...nice ones!

Lianna
Thanks for sharing all these great ideas. Here are mine - Basket with a great chick-flick DVD, popcorn, candy and her favorite drink. Get a babysitter if applicable and order in Chinese. Sit on the couch and eat with chopsticks (cuz you can't eat from the couch when the kids are around). Best addition to that present is a set of flannel drawstring jammies. Cozy.

LunarMagic
With regards to lingerie, be careful... some women feel affronted, thinking you got her a present for YOU, that you expect... certain things... afterwards. Depends on the girl, really. As for gift ideas, I think girls are fabulously easy. anything that makes her feel special, girlie, pretty... I can think of tons of stuff I'd love to get from my man... chocolate, flowers, nuts (he knows I have a thing for cashews), any of the little sweets I love... I like little gifts, like a pretty ring or necklace (but I would seriously be mad if he spent more than $30 on something, unless it's an engagement ring!). Those cute teddy bears with hearts would totally make me squeal like a little girl. =D My relationship is long-distance at the moment, so I have no idea what he's thinking or if he's going to do anything at all, he knows I don't really like flowers because they die, so I'm nervous. *lol* Also, our anniversary is ON valentines day, and it was definitely not intentional - I never would have planned it that way!
