KevinW 0
For sometime now, I have relied on Lavasoft's free Adaware program for cleaning up my customer's computers from those nasty spyware programs that can infect a system (like Gator, etc.). They just released version 6 that does away with needing the separate RefUpdate utility. Official Lavasoft Support Forums : http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/ BTW, if you already are using Adaware version 5.x, you should uninstall it first. Unfortunately it does NOT show up in the Add/Remove program. Simply go to your C:\Program Files directory, locate Lavasoft, and run the unwise.exe program there. -kw
btrfld 0
Excellent. Thanks for the tip, KW. I've used AdAware for a while, and it works very well.
TCH-Rick 0
I downloaded and ran AdAware this afternoon. I've been trying for a few days to get it and kept getting the Not Available until the first of February message. It did catch a couple of things that SpyBot missed so looks like a good update. I've also used AdAware for quite some time and am glad they finally got the new version out the door. New users might be surprised how many files it finds when run for the first time.
