n2access Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 I want to sell a web-based-only email service that does not have POP3 or SMTP access. How do I set that up in WebHost Manager and if necessary in CPanel? Thanks, Jerry Presley Quote
TCH-Sales Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 All you need to do is set up the e-mail account through Cpanel as you usually would, then use www.******/webmail to check the mail account. Quote
n2access Posted November 18, 2003 Author Posted November 18, 2003 Thanks Mitch. Will this PREVENT POP3 access? I know it will allow Webmail, but I want to have two packages, one with web-mail access ONLY at a lower price and another package with webmail AND POP3 at a higher price Jerry. Quote
Lianna Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 Jerry, To my knowledge, there is no way to setup an email account that is not POP3 capable. But I have to make an observation here. When using webmail only, your clients would be using the space and bandwidth at greater levels than for POP3 access. So why would that cost less? Just curious about how that would be beneficial to you. Sidenote: To all non-resellers, WebHost Manager (WHM) is the reseller interface. I'm tempted to move the topic to the reseller forum, but will leave it here because the question would be appropriate for all hosting accounts through cPanel Mail Accounts functions. Quote
