srobbins Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 I was wondering if remote linking is allowed for small graphics or whatever. I was also wondering if POP email is available for use with outlook express. Thanks... Quote
orangechicken Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Yes on both, I believe. 1) You can link to images on your site from other sites (ie. Ebay or the ***** forums) 2) For both incoming and outgoing mail you should point Outlook Express to the mail server at your domain: mail.<your domain>. For example: mail.orangechicken.com HTH Quote
Junior Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 I'm not sure about the remote linking, but you can use Outlook Express for your mail client without any problems, pointing it to mail.******. However, I believe the linking will work. Quote
Lianna Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 Remote linking will work. The avatars in the contest thread are actually stored on my site's space, for example. Lianna Side note: Orange Chicken, what does HTH mean? Forgive my slow brain today. Quote
srobbins Posted January 17, 2003 Author Posted January 17, 2003 Thanks for the answers. I think I will buy. Quote
Junior Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Great! Welcome to SNH! If we can help in any way, just let us know! Quote
Head Guru Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Watch out about remote linking. Nothing can make another person more upset then when you link to a graphic on his/her website. Some people consider this bandwidth theft. I dont know where I stand on this issue, just be carefull with it. Bill Quote
Lianna Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Good point, oh mighty one. I took the question as meaning the other direction. Like others linking to images stored on this person's site. Lianna Quote
