Server Side Application Guidance

I use a client application which generates web pages for my site, then uploads them via FTP. I need to automate the process, and I understand that I might be able to run the application on the server, using the output path directly to my html folders. I need some help, as I am a novice in this area.

 

Is there a resource to guide me through setting up and running a server application?

Thanks Bruce. It's a purchased application which generates the web pages for collecting information from online invited guests. I have opened a Help Desk request. I am new to this, so I'll appreciate the help.
