The only folder you need to upload your site to is the public_html folder. If you put your complete website in the public_html folder, it will show up on the internet.

If you need to make any additional directories for your web site, make sure you make them in the public_html folder.

Are your pages showing up?

it didn't work. but i am gonna try again. :) so i have to put my whole site (including all the folders) in the public_html folder??? i did just that before but it didn't work. any other way?? :)

Posted

Yes....just pretend the other folders do not exist :)

Upload your web site to the public_html directory. Any additional directories need to me made while you are in the public_html directory (for example, if you have your images in a separate folder).

Junior :)

if i create a subdomain, where do i store the files of my subdomain site??? in the public_html?? or is there gonna be a folder like public_html created for my subdomain ???? i know i know i am such a noobie :)

We were all a noobie once! :)

First, get your website uploaded, and make sure you can get to it. Have you did that yet? After you get one issue resolved, then try to resolve the subdomain issue.

Do you see your site yet?

thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, it is showing. :)

now next thing hehe, that domain thing. coz what i wanna do is

i wanna make that photo-album site in a subdomain. ;)

Great! I am glad you have got it to work.

Explain exactly what you are wanting. Do you have another domain name you want to add to this one, or are you wanting to set up a link in your website to your photos?

www.sbmgl.com

well it's simple. i want to create www.photos.sbmgl.com subdomain yeah, and if i go to www.photo.sbmgl.com i want my photo album to be displayed. thats what i want to do hehe, how do i do that?? junior

Youi go to your C-panel, and click on the "Manage Sub domains" link in the "Domains" section, and add the name of the subdomain.

It will automatically create the subdirectory in the public_html folder. You upload all files for the sub domain in the public_http/subdomain folder.

The subdomain option should be already on your account.

When you went to add it in the C-panel, and clicked on the "manage sub domains' did you get to a page "Sub domain maintentane"? This is where you add the sub domain.

When you entered the name, what did it tell you?

Posted

Great....that means that it was correctly added.

You should have (in the public_html directory) a new folder called photos, and if you open that photos folder, this is where you upload the files for new subdomain.

Your doing great! :)

OMG- i think i got the hang of it, now i think i can work it. it is created,

why i didn't see that it was created was because i already had a photos folder which contains all the photos in my web site, that was the problem. but now i am starting all over again. :) thnx for the help.
