Tch Palpatine Server Infected With Spam

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I wonder if anyone else on the palpatine server is having problems getting mail through to google?

Everytime I try to send mail to a gmail account form the server, they get labbeled as spam:

google says "lots of messages from palpatine.snhdns.com are spam"

I have tried asking support but they denied there is anything wrong with the server.

So I shifted my mail server to gmail, and now mails do not get marked as spam

But I am running a Drupal on the server and any messages sent by the system e.g. registration emails and invites form other users, are not getting through to the end user, this is obvioulsy VERY annoying as it is 100% a TCH issue and I do not know what else to do apart from perhaps leave TCH...?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Oli

I have given a detailed reply to your ticket on the help desk. Also made a few tweaks on the server and the email I sent to my test account on gmail got delivered to the inbox and not on the spam folder.

From your end I would request you to alter your script to use a valid working email as the Envelope-From instead of the default email address so that everything on the email being sent will refer to your domain name and not the catchall xxxxx@palpatine.snhdns.com as seen on the header you gave us on ticket.

Hi Balakrishnan,

Thanks for your replies, your change to the IP address of the server was a great temporary fix, but now emails being sent by my Drupal on your palpatine server are being caught by gmail and labbeled as SPAM again :(

Below is an example of the header from a text mail sent this moring which is being labbeld as spam, please can you explain what you mean by 'altering the script' which sends these messages and explain how I would go about using a "valid working email as the Envelope-From instead of the default"?

Thanks

Oliver

You will need to speak to the developers of drupal and get the steps to change the emails to use your email account rather than southeas@palpatine.snhdns.com as shown on the headers. We also gave you a link on the ticket to the drupal forums where this same issue is discussed and how you can change it.

I just tested by sending email again, it reached my inbox fine and was not marked as spam.
