davidcullinan Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 My installation of Gallery2 has stopped working. The error I receive: [Error (ERROR_PLATFORM_FAILURE) :in modules/core/classes/GalleryTemplate.class at line 251 (GalleryCoreApi::error) in modules/core/classes/GalleryTemplate.class at line 180 (GalleryTemplate::_initCompiledTemplateDir) in main.php at line 486 (GalleryTemplate::fetch) in main.php at line 94 in main.php at line 83 According to Gallery2's user forums, the solution might with permission settings. Unfortunately, trying to change the directories to the recommended permissions to being prevented...cpanel, FTP and Gallery's own admin pages are all prevented from making the change. Solution page in Gallery2 forum: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/98050 The error I get from my FTP program when attempting the change: 550 Could not change perms on cache: Operation not permittedFetch could not set permissions for “cache” because the FTP server sent an unexpected response. (Check the Fetch Transcript window for more information. Server responded: “Could not change perms on cache: Operation not permitted”) ftp_cmd/ftp_user: 2,-30000 (state == SETTING_PERMS) There is some suggestion in other TCH hosting forums that 777 permissions are now forbidden. If this is the case, I am not sure what to do. Without the current installation working, I am hesitant to attempt to upgrade to Gallery3. Quote
TCH-Bala Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 With suPHP you cannot have 777 permissions, but the same can be achieved using 755. Please try it out and if the issue persists, drop in a ticket so that our techs can have a look. Quote
davidcullinan Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 Everything that I can change to 755 is done, although I seem to be very limited in what I can do...regardless of whether it is through FTP, cpanel or the internal Gallery tools. Specifically, another Gallery troubleshooting recommendation was to clear its caches. I am prevented from doing this...again with FTP, cpanel or the internal Gallery tools. cpanel supposedly executes the delete request, but when I refresh the files and directories are still there. FTP at least kicks back an error that I don't have the permissions to execute the command. Unless anyone has a recommendation, I will open a ticket. Quote
