Change Mysql User Password

Recommended Posts

how do i change a MySQL user's password? according to the documentation the process is:

1. Select the user or database from the Users list.

2. Enter a new password in the New Password field.

it doesn't tell me how to get to this "Users list", so i'm guessing it's via cPanel | MySQL Databases? but the users list there is not "selectable", i.e., clicking it does nothing. now there is a selectable user under the "Current Databases" list, but when i select that all it allows me to do is change the user privileges.

what am i missing here?

Apparently if you just create a new user with the same username as the one you want to change, with a new password it will change the password. Otherwise, you can delete your current user and create them again with the required password.
