Head Guru
We are removing access to the formail and cgiemail scripts on our servers as I post this thread. There have been many attempts to exploit the scripts again. Please refer to this post on alternatives. At this point I am not sure if we will re-open access to the form mail scripts or not. They have simply been a target of much discussion and it may simply be easier to have customers use their own scripts. I will update more when we get to a final choice on what to do. For now access is removed. So if you had forms using the scripts you should re-code them NOW. Rick is starting on server4 and working his way to server36

surefire
A lot of TCH members have found this little script a valuable replacement for Form Mail and it has many features other scripts are lacking. http://www.totalchoicehosting.com/forums/i...?showtopic=2912
Depco
I for one would have appreciated some sort of warning or notice (email?) that my forms would no longer be working. My boss is asking me how much money I think we lost with our customers not being able to submit their requests for product application information. Any thoughts about some sort of email warning like "Hey folks we're making a change to our services that could adversely affect your web site." ??? sensound
What do I do if i like the "FormMail Clone" script? I have NEVER had a problem with it on my last host (NetBunch). The reason I went with yuo guys is because you use CPanel and were supposed to have formail & cgimail. Please advise what I can do? I already paid for hosting and dont really want to have to pay to use a form script that should already be available to me. the domain I reged id http://www.sensationalsounds.ca. Please advise what I can do.

agroamer
WOW, What a disaster this is. I've had this script running without knowing that it is either not allowed or disabled, for about 6 months and the last form I got on it was on 11/12/2006. I had no idea. Is there no method that you have to contact people to let them know? I'm a web designer for geez sakes, it looks pretty bad when you are a web designer and you have stuff on your site not working. No one had the courtesy to tell me! Now I can see why my business slowed down. I thought it was just because I was hoping to take a break anyway, but this is not a good thing to find out over a month later. Please! Set up some kind of notification system to your customers. MikeJ
Please! Set up some kind of notification system to your customers. Like maybe pinning a topic about it in the cpanel forum 3.5 years ago when it was changed?
