mooredn Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) just curious if I should put joomla in the domain's root or the "public_html" folder? if it goes in "public", will the joomla site have to be www.domainname.com/public/ or will it display at the domain.com address? does that make sense? TCH-Thomas Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 Welcome to the forum, mooredn. It makes sense. You will need to put it either in public_html or a subfolder to the public_html directory since a domain name is required and will be visible at your_domain.ext or your_domain.ext/your_chosen_folder. OJB Posted August 12, 2009 Posted August 12, 2009 (edited) mooredn, as Thomas says you will need to install it in the public_html directory (either in the root of the public_html directory or a subfolder of it) because anything above the public_html is not publically accessible via the internet. Essentially http ://www.yourdomain.ext resolves to the root of your public_html directory Edited August 12, 2009 by OJB Quote
