falcin
I've just installed WP using Fantastico, and I get the following error: Can’t select database We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the newcastl_wrdp1 database. * Are you sure it exists? * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem? If you don't know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums. The database is there, in both cPanel and phpMyAdmin; the wp-config.php file has the right DB name and 'localhost' as DBHOST. I've deleted the DB and recreated it through cPanel, but still the same error. Any ideas?
TCH-Don
I would use Fantastico to remove it and try to install again. If that does not work then open a ticket.
falcin
Nope, that didn't work, either. However, then I tried installing Nucleus via Fantastico and got a similar "Could not select database" error, so I'll open a ticket. Thanks for trying! TCH-Bruce
Yes, sounds like there is something not right. A ticket should get you fixed up.
