DavidS Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 HI I recently bought and installed a LiteOn 20X DVD Rewriter, and it came bundled with Nero 7 Essentials. I loaded N7E and tried to play a DVD (region 0) and got told I needed to enable DirctDraw Acceleration. I opened DirectX and checked the Display area only to disvoer that DirectDraw Acceleration is not an option I can enable - it is listed as not available. I am running Windows XP Home, SP2 - up to date with all updates and downlaods. I got no help trying to find an answer on the DirectX web site, and I can't seem to download the latest DirectX. Is there any way to fix this? hould I use a program other than Nero 7? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Welcome to the forums David When you say you opened DirectX did you mean you went to your start menu > all Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > System Information Tools > DirectX Diagonostic Tool There I see the DirectX version (mine is 9.0c) And on the display tab I can enable/dissable and run drawing test. I am able to use nero showtime to watch DVD movies on an XP emachine with onboard display. Quote
dcumpian Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Are you sure that your video card supports hardware acceleration? Dan Quote
carbonize Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Personaly I'd say ditch Nero as a media player and use something like Gomplayer to play your video files. Quote
