TCH-James Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Greetings TCH Family, As many have noticed, we had some downtime tonight that was unplanned. The cause of this downtime was a fiber ring that was cut during some construction. Normally, the routers at the provider's Central Office would route around such an issue. The line card which controls this re-routing appears to have failed. The provider's team worked as quickly as possible to replace and reconfigure for this. We are currently evaluating the addition of fiber links that are routed along a completely separate path. This would ensure that a cut such as this would not cause downtime, even in the event of a equipment failure with one or more providers and fiber links. We apologize for the downtime you have experienced, and thank you for your patience as we have worked through this issue.
